Halloween Karen and Dave go to a Halloween party sponsored by VCOM and the vet-med school at Virginia Tech. Karen goes dressed as Sarah Palin (or perhaps, Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin), and Dave goes as Todd. Rallies in Roanoke - Bill Clinton and Barack Obama We went to two political rallies for the Obama campaign in Roanoke this past week. The first was in the market square downtown, where Bill Clinton spoke, and the second was in a nearly-full Roanoke Civic Center, where Barack gave a half-hour stump speech after being introduced by Senator Jim Webb. The place is still a little cluttered and we haven't hung any of the pictures yet (we started that the following week), but you can get an idea of what everything looks like. Monica's Birthday Dave's friend Monica turned 30 at the end of August, and he drove up to Columbus, OH, to join in the festivities. This was Mo's first night away from her four-month-old baby (her parents took over the responsibility for the evening) and she took advantage of the momentary freedom to party for the first time in a very long time. A good time was had by all, and some of us even remembered what happened the next day. Speaking of which, the next morning was little Eva's christening/baptism/whatever those crazy Catholics call their baby-dipping. Monica's Birthday
